Prasidh Krishna Ruled Out of Final ODI Against West Indies
India has ruled Prasidh Krishna out of the third and final ODI against West Indies after he sustained a left hamstring injury during the second match, the Board of Control for Cricket in India said on October 1. The board named Anshul Kamboj as his squad replacement for the match, scheduled for October 3. The announcement does not establish whether Kamboj will play in the XI. Prasidh was injured while bowling in the second ODI in Guwahati on September 30. He completed five overs before leaving the field; match reports recorded his figures as one wicket for 45 runs. The BCCI did not provide a recovery timeline. One report said he would travel to Bengaluru for treatment at the board’s Centre of Excellence and described his availability for India’s upcoming New Zealand series as uncertain, but no subsequent medical update was supplied. Kamboj was with India A for a match against Australia A when he was called up. Reports said he left that squad to join India’s ODI group. Mohammed Siraj is also available in the squad, and one report identified him as a possible option to replace Prasidh in the playing XI.
