Police search for missing Belgian hillwalker on Isle of Skye

Police Scotland are searching for a Belgian hillwalker who failed to return from a planned route in the Cuillin Mountains on the Isle of Skye. Hector Patemore, 45, was last seen at 10:45 a.m. on Sunday, September 13, leaving the Youth Hostel in Glen Brittle to climb Sgurr Na Banachdich. He did not return to his accommodation and was reported missing at approximately 10:25 p.m. that evening. Officers describe Patemore as an experienced hillwalker and state the route he intended to follow is considered relatively straightforward. He is described as white, 6ft 4ins tall, of slim build, with a shaved head and stubble. When last seen, he was wearing a red jacket, a mustard-coloured hooded top, and a hat, and is believed to be carrying a rucksack. Sergeant David Mockett said, "We are growing increasingly concerned for his wellbeing and are appealing for anyone with information regarding his whereabouts to please get in touch. We are particularly keen to speak with any fellow hillwalkers who were in the area on Sunday, 13 September, and may have seen Hector or know anything which could help pinpoint his location and route.
