Body found in search for Georgie Nolan, police say

Published 29 October 2026

Wiltshire Police said a body was found in Bradford-on-Avon during the search for missing 19-year-old Georgie Nolan, but formal identification had not been completed as of October 27. The force said Nolan’s family had been informed and were receiving support from specially trained officers. Police said the body was discovered on October 27 in the Bradford-on-Avon area of Wiltshire. Nolan had been reported missing after last being seen in the area in the early hours of Saturday, October 24. The force said the discovery was made during the search for her. Wiltshire Police said enquiries were continuing and that it did not believe the death involved suspicious circumstances. That assessment was made before formal identification had taken place. The reports did not provide a later identification result. Police said Nolan’s family had been notified of the discovery. They asked for privacy during what the force described as an extremely difficult time, and specially trained officers were supporting them. Search teams and police divers had carried out extensive searches near the Kennet and Avon Canal area, according to the police account. No further details about the search operation...
