Paul Walker's Brother Steps Back From Final Fast Film
Cody Walker, brother of the late Paul Walker, says he will not reprise his stand-in role for his brother's character in the final Fast and Furious film, and he believes any decision about bringing Brian O'Conner back rests with Paul Walker's daughter, Meadow Walker. Paul Walker died in a car accident in 2013 while filming Furious 7. His brothers Cody and Caleb were brought in to help complete the film, with visual effects teams using CGI face-swapping technology to finish the actor's remaining scenes. The movie ended with a symbolic sendoff in which Vin Diesel's Dominic Toretto pulls up alongside Brian O'Conner, who was written out of the franchise as retiring to raise his children with Mia, played by Jordana Brewster. In a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, Cody Walker said he would not be interested in standing in for his brother again. "I love the way his character exited the franchise. They didn't kill him off, they didn't do something cheesy like that. It's beautiful, Brian is off raising his kids," he said. He added that the decision belongs to Meadow Walker. "My stance is, it's what Meadow wants to see done, it's her father.
