Olivia Miles unanimously wins WNBA Rookie of the Year

Minnesota Lynx guard Olivia Miles was unanimously named the WNBA’s 2026 Rookie of the Year, receiving all 74 votes from a national panel of sportswriters and broadcasters, the league announced Monday. Miles also set a rookie-season scoring record with 790 points, surpassing the 769-point mark Caitlin Clark established in 2024. Miles averaged 19.8 points, 6.0 assists and 4.7 rebounds per game. She started all 40 games in which she appeared, according to reports, and helped Minnesota earn the top seed in the playoffs. She was selected second overall in the 2026 draft after playing for TCU. The scoring mark capped a season in which Miles led rookies in total points and points per game. She also swept the league’s four Rookie of the Month awards during the regular season. Reports said she recorded 22 games with at least 20 points, a rookie record. Miles is the sixth player to win the award unanimously, according to reports. She is also the sixth Lynx player to receive the honor, joining Betty Lennox, Seimone Augustus, Maya Moore, Napheesa Collier and Crystal Dangerfield. The award came as Minnesota’s playoff campaign remained in progress.
