Nubank Launches Nu Global With Stablecoins for Cross-Border Transfers

Published 12 September 2026

Nubank, the Brazilian fintech giant serving more than 140 million customers, launched Nu Global on September 10, 2026, a multicurrency digital account that integrates Circle's USDC and EURC stablecoins to facilitate cross-border transfers. The product allows users to convert local currency deposits into USDC and EURC, offering yields of 3.50% APY on USDC and 2.20% APY on EURC. It enables fee-free transfers to more than 35 countries, with an initial rollout focused on Europe and Latin America, and planned expansion to Brazil, Colombia, Mexico, and the United States. Nu Global represents Nubank's largest blockchain infrastructure integration to date, extending its existing NuCrypto stablecoin functionality into a full international banking product. The account includes a virtual Mastercard with no markup fees for international spending, and users can hold and trade selected cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin and Ethereum alongside their stablecoin balances. The service is designed to simplify cross-border payments by using stablecoins as a digital settlement layer, potentially reducing the friction and intermediaries involved in traditional international transactions.
