NSE Raises Rs 6,746 Crore From Anchor Investors Ahead of IPO
The National Stock Exchange of India (NSE) raised Rs 6,746 crore from 150 anchor investors ahead of its initial public offering, which opened for public subscription on September 17, 2026. The exchange allotted over 3.77 crore shares at Rs 1,785 per share, the upper end of its price band, according to a circular uploaded on the BSE website. Foreign portfolio investors accounted for approximately 43% of the anchor book, investing Rs 2,883 crore. Domestic institutions, including mutual funds and insurance companies, contributed around Rs 3,588 crore, representing 53% of the total. More than 20 foreign long-only funds participated, alongside sovereign wealth funds such as GIC Singapore, the Abu Dhabi Investment Authority, and Norges Bank. LIC, NSE's largest shareholder with a 10.72% stake, invested more than Rs 500 crore through three entities: LIC, LIC Mutual Fund, and LIC Pension Fund. The SBI group, which is selling a 1% stake in the exchange, also participated through its mutual fund, general insurance, life insurance, and pension fund arms, investing over Rs 400 crore.
