North Central launches Tinubu-Shettima 2027 mobilisation platform

Political leaders in Nigeria’s North Central region on Friday launched a grassroots mobilisation platform to support President Bola Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima in the 2027 election, setting a goal of delivering the region’s highest presidential vote total for Tinubu. The North Central Grassroots Mobilisation Movement for Tinubu-Shettima 2027 was inaugurated at a meeting in Abuja led by Secretary to the Government of the Federation George Akume. The platform is also intended to campaign for other All Progressives Congress candidates in the region, according to the meeting’s reported resolutions. Akume said the movement’s principal objective was to canvass support and encourage a large turnout for Tinubu in 2027. He described the region’s target as securing the highest regional vote total for the president. The goal is a political aspiration, not a reported election result. Nasarawa State Governor Abdullahi Sule called the initiative timely and expressed confidence in the region’s prospects.
