North Carolina Teen Indicted for Aiding San Diego Mosque Shooting

Published 31 August 2026

A 17-year-old North Carolina girl has been indicted on murder and conspiracy charges for allegedly aiding and abetting the deadly shooting at the Islamic Center of San Diego in May, authorities announced Monday. The teen, identified in court records as Sarah Lindsay Santiago, is accused of livestreaming the attack and disseminating the shooters' manifesto, despite not being physically present in California. The indictment stems from the May 18, 2026, attack at the Clairemont mosque, where gunmen Caleb Vazquez, 18, and Cain Clark, 17, opened fire, killing three men before taking their own lives.
