Nikon announces compact full-frame Z5II C camera

Nikon has announced the Z5II C, a compact full-frame mirrorless camera that removes the electronic viewfinder from the Z5 II while retaining a 24.5-megapixel-class sensor, image stabilization and video features. The company positions the new model for photographers and video creators who want a smaller camera with full-frame capabilities. The camera has a 3.2-inch vari-angle touchscreen and a single SD UHS-II card slot, compared with two slots on the Z5 II. Nikon says the model will be offered in black and a black-and-silver finish. Its design retains a substantial grip, while omitting the viewfinder and some controls found on the Z5 II. Nikon says the Z5II C adds 15 scene modes, which let users select settings for situations such as portraits, pets, food and night landscapes. The camera also has subject-detection autofocus, including a fish-detection option Nikon describes as new, and in-body vibration reduction rated for up to 7.5 stops of correction at the center of the frame. A button provides access to Imaging Recipes, presets intended to give images customized looks.
