Nigeria Customs N11 Trillion Revenue Target On Track

The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) is on track to meet its 2026 revenue target of N11 trillion, driven by aggressive automation, intelligence-led reforms, and improved cargo processing strategies, according to the Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Professor Taiwo Oyedele. Oyedele made the projection during the 65th Regular Meeting of the Nigeria Customs Service Board (NCSB) held on Sunday, September 6, 2026, at the NCS headquarters in Abuja. The meeting, chaired by the minister, reviewed the service's performance and administrative matters. According to a statement from NCS Spokesperson Abdullahi Maiwada, the service generated N4.30 trillion in revenue during the first six months of 2026. This figure represents 36.4 percent of the N11.074 trillion annual target. The minister also noted that an additional N1.38 trillion was collected in July and August 2026, bringing the total revenue for the first eight months to N5.68 trillion. Oyedele commended the NCS for its strong revenue performance, technology-driven reforms, and sustained efforts to ease trade.
