New attack reported at Riyadh airport after deadly strike

Published 11 October 2026

Saudi authorities reported a second attack at Riyadh’s King Khalid International Airport on Sunday, October 11, a day after a strike that killed 13 people and injured more than 300. The Saudi civil aviation authority said an unidentified projectile struck Terminal 4, causing a fire and injuries, while damage was being assessed. The number of people injured in Sunday’s incident was not specified. The Saudi-led coalition said air defenses intercepted a cruise missile near the airport. The reports did not establish whether the intercepted missile and the projectile that struck Terminal 4 were the same object. The airport remained closed after Saturday’s attack, according to Saudi authorities. Saudi officials initially reported 12 deaths from Saturday’s strike. The Embassy of India in Riyadh said Sunday that an Indian citizen injured in the attack had died, bringing the reported toll to 13. Saudi authorities said more than 300 people were wounded. The dead included four Saudis, two Bangladeshis and citizens of the United States, Jordan, Palestine, Syria, Sudan and Egypt.
