Netflix Wins Spain and Andorra Rights to 2030 World Cup
Netflix has secured exclusive rights to stream all 104 matches of the 2030 men’s World Cup in Spain and Andorra, marking its first major agreement to broadcast a men’s World Cup. The company said the deal includes live coverage of the entire tournament, though it did not disclose its financial terms. Netflix said one match per matchday will be available free in Spain. It also committed to making a package that includes every Spain match, both semifinals and the final available to a national free-to-air broadcaster. Netflix has not named that broadcaster, and the announcement did not specify the free-to-air arrangement for Andorra. The tournament is scheduled to be held principally in Spain, Portugal and Morocco, with three centenary matches in Argentina, Paraguay and Uruguay. The games in South America mark 100 years since the inaugural World Cup, held in Uruguay in 1930. Netflix’s rights announcement covers Spain and Andorra, rather than the other host countries. Netflix said its planned coverage will include pregame, halftime and postgame shows, daily match-day roundups and programming ahead of the tournament.
