Netflix sets December 3 premiere for Pride and Prejudice

Netflix has confirmed that its new six-part adaptation of Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice will premiere on December 3, 2026. The announcement was made by series writer Dolly Alderton at the Jane Austen Festival in Bath, England. The limited series stars Emma Corrin as Elizabeth Bennet and Jack Lowden as Mr. Darcy. It is directed by Euros Lyn, known for his work on Heartstopper. Netflix has described the project as a "faithful, classic adaptation" of the 1813 novel. Alongside the release date, Netflix unveiled new first-look images of the cast in character. The photographs feature Corrin and Lowden, as well as Olivia Colman as Mrs. Bennet, Rufus Sewell as Mr. Bennet, and Freya Mavor as Jane Bennet. Other cast members shown include Daryl McCormack as Mr. Bingley, Jamie Demetriou as Mr. Collins, Louis Partridge as Mr. Wickham, Rhea Norwood as Lydia Bennet, and Fiona Shaw as Lady Catherine de Bourgh. The series follows the five Bennet sisters as they navigate love, family, and societal expectations. The official synopsis states that when wealthy bachelors arrive in their neighborhood, Jane falls for the charming Mr. Bingley, while Elizabeth clashes with his proud friend Mr. Darcy.
