Netflix Sets A Man on the Inside to End With Season 3

Netflix has announced that the third season of A Man on the Inside will be the comedy’s last. The season is in production in San Francisco, and no premiere date has been announced. Creator Mike Schur said the team was pleased to conclude the story of Charles Nieuwendyk with one final chapter. Ted Danson returns as Charles, a retiree who becomes a private investigator after answering a help-wanted ad. The series began with Charles taking an undercover assignment at a retirement home and continued with new investigations in later seasons. In the final season, Charles is hired by Coco Van Beck, a prominent figure in San Francisco society played by Bernadette Peters. He is asked to investigate alleged efforts to sabotage her philanthropic work. Nick Offerman plays Jack Spencer, one of Coco’s employees who takes an interest in the investigation. The returning cast also includes Mary Elizabeth Ellis, Lilah Richcreek Estrada, Stephanie Beatriz, Eugene Cordero, Stephen McKinley Henderson, Sally Struthers and Mary Steenburgen. New guest stars include Annette O’Toole, Christopher McDonald, Diedrich Bader, Jessica St. Clair, Rachel Dratch and Stephen Root.
