Nepal Flash Floods Kill 270, Leave Hundreds Missing Including Indian Pilgrims

A group of 31 pilgrims from Hyderabad, including former DRDO chairman Dr. G. Satheesh Reddy, narrowly escaped devastating flash floods in the Nepal-Tibet border region and are now safe in Saga, Tibet. The group crossed the affected area on Wednesday morning, just hours before the deluge struck, and is now exploring an alternate return route through China. The flash floods, triggered by a glacier collapse that blocked a river near the border, have caused widespread destruction in Nepal. The death toll has risen to at least 270, with over 800 people reported missing.
