My Chemical Romance Singer Hints at First New Album in 15 Years

My Chemical Romance lead singer Gerard Way expressed a desire for the band to record a new album, which would be their first studio release in over 15 years. The statement came during the final North American stadium show of their 2026 tour. Way addressed the audience at the Alamodome in San Antonio on September 12, saying the group has "always wanted to make another record" and hopes "life allows us to do that." He added, "I don't know when it'll be. But it'll be awesome." The comment marks the band's first public indication of a potential fifth album since their 2019 reunion. My Chemical Romance's last studio album was 2010's "Danger Days: The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys." Since reuniting, the band has released only one new song, the 2022 single "The Foundations of Decay." Way dedicated the performance of that song in San Antonio to its co-producer Doug McKean, who died of a brain hemorrhage in June 2022. The San Antonio concert concluded the North American leg of the "Long Live The Black Parade" tour, which celebrated the 20th anniversary of their 2006 album.
