Mayweather Praises Trump at Arizona Campaign Rally
Floyd Mayweather praised the United States and President Donald Trump during an October 14 campaign rally in Bullhead City, Arizona, after traveling to the event with Trump aboard Air Force One from Las Vegas. Trump introduced the former professional boxer at the rally. Mayweather recalled representing the United States at the 1996 Olympic Games, said he would choose America in every life, and told the crowd that voters could not have chosen a better president than Trump. He also called for national unity and said people should believe in one another. The remarks were reported from the rally speech and circulated video. Mayweather’s appearance was part of an event aimed at supporting Republican gubernatorial candidate Andy Biggs, who is challenging Democratic Gov. Katie Hobbs. Trump urged Arizona voters to back Biggs, while also criticizing Hobbs during his address. Mayweather’s trip aboard Air Force One was documented in a White House travel-pool passenger list. His presence on the flight and at the rally establishes that he joined Trump’s campaign stop, but does not establish that he held a formal campaign position or had been invited in that capacity.
