LAFC parts ways with coach Marc Dos Santos

Los Angeles FC announced Sunday that it had parted ways with head coach Marc Dos Santos and would begin searching for a successor, with six regular-season matches remaining. The club had not named an interim coach in its announcement, leaving its plans for the next match unresolved. The decision followed LAFC’s 1-0 loss at FC Dallas on Saturday, Dos Santos’s final game in charge. The defeat left the club sixth in the Western Conference, according to reports, as it sought to recover from a difficult run. Accounts gave differing figures for the team’s recent results, using different time periods and competition scopes, so no single recent-form tally is consistent across them. LAFC president of soccer operations John Thorrington said Dos Santos had contributed greatly to the club and that LAFC was grateful for his commitment and care. He also wished Dos Santos and his family well. The club said it would begin its search for a new head coach, while reports said an interim arrangement had yet to be announced. Dos Santos had been appointed head coach in December 2025 after serving as an assistant under Steve Cherundolo.
