Klitschko Granted Temporary Guardianship of Daughter’s Estate

Published 10 October 2026

A Los Angeles County judge granted Wladimir Klitschko temporary guardianship of the estate inherited by his and Hayden Panettiere’s 11-year-old daughter, Kaya, giving him authority to act on her behalf as the estate proceeds through probate. A hearing to decide whether guardianship will become permanent is scheduled for December 7. Klitschko sought the appointment in a petition filed in Los Angeles County Superior Court. His filings argued that estate property could be lost, damaged or improperly distributed before a representative was appointed. The temporary order allows him to pursue steps to protect and recover property, subject to the court’s authority and applicable legal requirements. In a supplemental filing, Klitschko alleged that a person outside Panettiere’s family had offered some of her possessions, including jewelry, for sale at a pawn shop. His petition also raised concerns about unauthorized access to Panettiere’s Los Angeles residence. These claims are allegations in court filings, not findings that anyone took or sold the property. One filing also cited property seized in a federal investigation and said its return was not assured.
