Khosla Says Seahawks Have No Current Plans to Move
Seattle Seahawks owner Vinod Khosla says he has no current plans to move the team, but he stopped short of promising the franchise will remain in Seattle indefinitely, leaving its long-term location unresolved. Asked in an interview whether he would commit to keeping the Seahawks in Seattle, Khosla replied, “I will never say never,” and wondered whether the team would still be in the city 500 years from now. He added that he had no current plans to change the team, including its leadership, operations or home at Lumen Field. Khosla later wrote on X that the Seahawks had no plans to move and that relocation had never been discussed or considered. He accused reporters of taking his interview answer out of context. His post reiterated that the ownership group had no plans to change anything, but did not make a permanent commitment to Seattle. The distinction matters because the team’s stadium lease does not settle its location beyond the coming years. The Lumen Field agreement runs through the 2032 season and includes three ten-year options that could extend it through 2062.
