Karnataka man killed in Sharjah, body found in car

Alwin Prakash Kunder, a 38-year-old man from Kundapur in Karnataka's Udupi district who had worked at Sharjah Airport for about 14 years, was allegedly murdered in the United Arab Emirates emirate of Sharjah in July 2026, with his body later found dismembered into nine pieces and packed into two bags inside a car parked along a route toward Oman, according to his family. Details of the case emerged nearly two months after Kunder's family raised an alarm over his disappearance. His brother, Anil Prashanth Kunder, said he tried calling Kunder around July 20 but received no answer. Instead, a text message was sent from Kunder's phone saying he was fine. Anil said the response appeared unusual because his brother normally communicated through voice messages. When another call went unanswered about a week later, the family grew worried. Anil contacted Kunder's former classmate Manohar, who was in Sharjah, and asked him to check on him. Manohar went to the flat provided by Kunder's employer, where the building's watchman reportedly said Kunder had travelled to India. The company's HR department initially gave the same account.
