Jordan Finals Jersey Sells for $14 Million

Published 12 October 2026

Hunt Auctions announced that a game-worn, autographed Michael Jordan jersey from Game 2 of the 1998 NBA Finals sold for $14 million in a private treaty sale, a price the auction house described as a record for basketball memorabilia. The red Chicago Bulls jersey was worn by Jordan on June 5, 1998, when the Bulls beat the Utah Jazz to tie the Finals at one game apiece. Chicago went on to win the series in six games, securing Jordan’s sixth championship with the team. Hunt Auctions identified the buyer as Ron Firman, a Miami real-estate investor. Firman said he was excited about the purchase. The reports attribute the sale price and the record characterization to Hunt Auctions’ announcement; they do not provide independent transaction documentation. At $14 million, the jersey’s reported price is below the $24.12 million paid in 2024 for a Babe Ruth jersey associated with the 1932 World Series. The Jordan jersey is described as the highest-priced basketball memorabilia item, while the Ruth jersey remains the higher-priced example among those two sales. The sale adds to a series of high-priced transactions involving Jordan’s 1998 Finals jerseys. A Game 1 jersey sold for about $10.
