JioPC Cloud Service Expands to All Indian Internet Users

Reliance Jio, the telecommunications arm of India's most valuable company, has expanded its cloud-based PC service to all internet users in the country, a move aimed at transforming older computers into machines capable of running modern artificial intelligence applications without requiring hardware upgrades. The service, called JioPC, was originally launched in July 2025 for Reliance Jio's own broadband subscribers but was opened to the broader public on Wednesday, September 2, 2026. JioPC streams a virtual personal computer from Reliance's cloud data centers to a user's existing device. The service offers plans with specifications including up to eight virtual CPUs, 16GB of RAM, and 1TB of storage. According to the company, this can provide computing power suitable for AI applications to computers as old as eight years. Subscription plans start at 1,000 rupees (approximately $11) for a two-month period. A 12-month subscription costs 4,000 rupees (about $42) for a configuration with 8GB of RAM and 500GB of storage, or 5,000 rupees (around $53) for the higher-end 16GB and 1TB plan. The expansion comes as PC replacement cycles in India are lengthening.
