Jessie J Steps Back From Public Life for Health and Family

Published 8 September 2026

Singer Jessie J is taking a significant step back from the public eye and social media to focus on her health and family. The 38-year-old artist announced on September 7, 2026, that she would be stepping away from her online presence to "process" and heal after what she described as an "extremely busy" and "life-changing" past two years. In a candid Instagram post, Jessie J, whose real name is Jessica Cornish, reassured fans that she is "ok" but "not at her best." She explained that the recent period, which included releasing her first album in eight years, "Dont Tease Me with a Good Time," moving back to her native England from the United States, and co-parenting her 3-year-old son, Sky, with ex Chanan Safir Colman, has "taken a toll" on parts of her that she has not had time to address. This period of reflection comes ahead of her second cancer reconstruction surgery. Jessie J was diagnosed with early-stage breast cancer in summer 2025 and underwent a mastectomy. She announced in May 2026 that she had been declared cancer-free, a journey she has previously shared openly with her followers.
