Jean Silva submits Delgado at Noche UFC, calls for title shot

Published 13 September 2026

Jean Silva secured a third-round submission victory over Jose Delgado in the main event of Noche UFC 4 on Saturday, September 12, 2026, at the Desert Diamond Arena in Glendale, Arizona. The Brazilian featherweight locked in a rear-naked choke at 2:57 of the final round after dropping Delgado with a right hand, forcing the tap. Following the win, Silva removed his gloves and presented them to UFC executive Hunter Campbell, a gesture widely interpreted as a call for a title shot. During his post-fight interview, Silva declared himself the new champion and stated he should be next in line for the 145-pound title. The fight began with Delgado controlling the opening round, dropping Silva with a punch and winning the frame on the scorecards. Silva rallied in the second round, landing effective strikes and securing a takedown. He then took over in the third, chasing the finish before the decisive sequence. The victory improved Silva's professional record to 18-3. He has now won four of his last five fights, including stoppages over Drew Dober, Melsik Baghdasaryan, and Bryce Mitchell. Delgado, who entered on a two-fight winning streak, fell to 12-3.
