JBL Launches Cove WiFi Speakers for Multiroom Audio

JBL has launched its new Cove series, a line of three WiFi-enabled home speakers designed to simplify multiroom audio and challenge established competitors like Sonos. Unveiled in late August 2026 at a loft in NoHo, Manhattan, the system comprises the compact M1, the portable P1, and the flagship X1, all aimed at delivering high-quality sound with minimal setup friction. The core promise of the Cove line is ease of use. JBL states that the speakers can be set up in three steps within three to five minutes using the JBL One app. The system is built around JBL's proprietary Constant Sound Field and AI Sound Boost technologies, which automatically calibrate audio based on the speaker's placement in a room. Each model can function as a standalone unit, be paired for stereo sound, or be grouped into a multiroom system. They are also designed to integrate with JBL's Bar Series MK2 soundbars, allowing the M1 and P1 to serve as wireless rear channels for a Dolby Atmos home theater setup. The lineup begins with the Cove M1, a compact speaker priced at $229.95. It features three tweeters and one woofer but does not support Dolby Atmos. For greater flexibility, the Cove P1, priced at $399.
