ITV footage prompts Reform investigations over candidates' remarks

Published 15 October 2026

ITV has released excerpts from an undercover investigation showing Reform UK candidates and councillors making racist, anti-Muslim, sexual and violent remarks, prompting the party to say it has begun investigations and suspended some members in certain cases. The footage, recorded during election campaigns, includes remarks targeting ethnic and religious minorities and comments about violence. In one recording described in the investigation, a councillor advocated forcibly removing Muslims from their homes and sending them to Pakistan. Other excerpts include racist descriptions of Black children and Asian families, explicit sexual comments about a fellow party member, and proposals involving violence against migrants. Among those identified was Alan Feeney, a Reform councillor and deputy mayor of Solihull. The investigation reported that he said he would refuse to canvass voters with Asian names and expressed views advocating racial exclusion and the removal of Muslims. Feeney said he had left Reform for personal reasons. He is reported to be continuing as an independent councillor, so his departure from the party did not itself end his elected role.
