Iglesias Stops Zaren in Seventh, Retains Two Titles

Published 10 October 2026

Osleys Iglesias stopped Oliver Zaren in the seventh round in Quebec City, retaining his IBF and IBO super middleweight titles after knocking the challenger down twice in the previous round. The scheduled 12-round bout ended when Zaren’s trainer, Mikkel Kessler, threw in the towel at 1:31 of the seventh. The stoppage was Iglesias’s first defense of his IBF title, according to fight coverage. Zaren, who entered the fight undefeated, suffered his first professional loss. Iglesias gradually wore down Zaren with clean punches, including jabs and hooks. Zaren was knocked down twice in the sixth round, though he continued into the next round. His left eye was visibly damaged, and his corner stopped the fight to prevent further punishment. The win followed Iglesias’s title-winning victory over Pavel Silyagin and kept his record unbeaten. One report described the stoppage as his 10th in a row. The bout was his second fight of the year. After the fight, Iglesias said he was interested in facing the winner of the scheduled October 31 bout between Saul Canelo Alvarez and Christian Mbilli.
