IDF Secures Strategic Ridge in Southern Lebanon, Clears Tunnel Complex

The Israel Defense Forces have secured the strategic Ali Taher Ridge in southern Lebanon, clearing a vast underground tunnel complex and trapping or eliminating Hezbollah fighters in a major operation that has reshaped the military landscape along the border. The operation, completed in recent weeks, was announced by Israeli officials on Thursday, September 3, 2026. Defense Minister Israel Katz stated that the capture of the ridge marked the completion of a phase in consolidating Israel's hold on the security zone.
