Huawei Launches Wide-Screen Pura X View Smartphone
Huawei has launched the Pura X View, a new smartphone that challenges conventional design with its unusually wide aspect ratio for a non-foldable device. The phone, announced on September 7, 2026, features a 6.39-inch OLED display stretched to a 16:9.5 aspect ratio, a significant departure from the tall, narrow screens that have dominated the smartphone market for over a decade. This wider format is intended to offer users more horizontal screen real estate for activities such as reading, split-screen multitasking, gaming, and video consumption, aiming to provide benefits similar to wider foldable phones without the added bulk or crease. The Pura X View boasts a display resolution of 2,232 by 1,320 pixels with a 120Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of 6,500 nits. It features symmetrical 1.05mm bezels on all sides and is protected by Kunlun Glass. For eye comfort, it incorporates high-frequency 2,160Hz PWM dimming. Despite its expansive screen, the device measures a slim 6.68mm thick and weighs 201 grams. Powering the phone is a substantial 7,000mAh silicon-anode battery, supporting 66W wired and 50W wireless charging.
