Hibs seek response against Celtic at Easter Road

Published 23 October 2026

Hibernian will host Scottish Premiership leaders Celtic at Easter Road on Sunday, October 25, with the hosts looking to end a poor run of league results and Celtic aiming to protect top spot. Kickoff is scheduled for noon. Celtic have 24 points from nine games and lead Rangers by four points. Hibs are 12th, on seven points, and have taken one point from their last six league matches. Their latest league defeat was a 2-1 home loss to Falkirk. The visitors arrive after contrasting results: a 7-1 league win over Hearts was followed by a 2-1 home defeat to Celta Vigo in the Europa League. Celtic have won five of their last six league matches and six consecutive away league games. Their recent record against Hibs is close, with each side winning twice in the last 10 meetings and one match drawn; Celtic won 2-1 at Easter Road in May. Hibs manager Marink Reedijk said his side would seek greater consistency and vary its approach in possession. He said they had shown positive work pressing and defending, but needed to mix short passing with balls played in behind. Reedijk also expects Celtic to build from the back, use their wingers in one-on-one situations and make runs into the box....
