Harry Says He Limits Time Away From Family to 10 Days
Prince Harry said in a MasterClass released October 8 that he tries not to spend more than 10 days away from his wife, Meghan, and their children, describing the limit as part of how he balances work and family life. He presented it as his personal approach, not a formal agreement with Meghan. “The biggest factor for me is the energy and the joy and happiness that I get being with my family, especially our kids,” Harry said in the program, Redefining Grief: Building Resilience Through Loss. He also described finding purpose in his work. He said the 10-day limit helps bring together his roles as a father, husband and professional. The MasterClass features Harry speaking with neuroscientist and grief expert Dr. Mary-Frances O’Connor. In the same discussion, Harry described a difficult period after he and Meghan moved to Canada with their son, Archie, in late 2019. He said that within two or three days of leaving what he described as a stressful environment, he experienced an adrenaline crash. He said he felt depressed for about two weeks and believed he could not function without adrenaline.
