HarperCollins Drops David Walliams' Entire Book Back Catalogue

HarperCollins has dropped David Walliams' entire back catalogue of books following allegations of inappropriate behaviour towards junior female employees. The publisher confirmed that it will phase out stock of his books in shops, as well as ebook and audiobook versions, effectively removing all his titles from its list. The decision, first reported by The Bookseller, comes after allegations emerged in December 2025 from a Telegraph investigation. The report stated that Walliams was accused of harassing young women at HarperCollins, leading to an internal inquiry. Former employees alleged that staff were advised to work in pairs when meeting with him and not to visit his home. One woman who raised concerns reportedly received a five-figure payoff and left the business. Walliams, a bestselling children's author with over 60 million copies sold worldwide, strongly denies the allegations. A spokesperson for him stated that he has never been informed of any allegations by HarperCollins and was not party to any investigation. The spokesperson added that Walliams is taking legal advice. HarperCollins initially dropped Walliams last year, deciding not to publish any new titles by him.
