Gias Foods recalls two Walmart pasta lots over Listeria risk

Gias Foods has recalled two lots of Bettergoods Authentic Italian Lemon Alfredo Fettuccine sold at Walmart stores nationwide after routine sampling indicated the frozen pasta may contain Listeria monocytogenes, according to the company announcement posted by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. No illnesses linked to the product had been reported in the announcement, and the available information does not establish that contamination was confirmed. The recall, issued September 15, applies to frozen 22-ounce yellow packages bearing UPC 194346442706 and lot number L6079C or L6080C. The L6079C lot has an expiration date of September 19, 2027, and L6080C packages expire September 20, 2027. The product was distributed through Walmart stores nationwide. Routine sampling by the Washington State Department of Agriculture and the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services indicated the finished product may contain the bacteria, the company said. Gias Foods has stopped distributing the affected pasta while it and the FDA investigate the potential source. Findings from that investigation and underlying test results were not included in the recall announcement.
