Giants QB Jaxson Dart exits Rams game with knee injury

New York Giants quarterback Jaxson Dart left Monday night's game against the Los Angeles Rams in the first quarter with a left knee injury and was listed by the team as questionable to return. The injury occurred on the Giants' opening offensive series at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California, less than four minutes into the contest. Dart was hurt while under pressure on a third-down play. Rams linebacker Byron Young hit Dart from his right side, sending him into linebacker Josaiah Stewart, whose leg collided with Dart's planted left knee and brought him down hard onto the turf. Dart remained on the ground for some time, clutching his knee, before players from both teams gathered around him. The second-year quarterback eventually limped off the field under his own power and was evaluated in the blue medical tent. He then walked slowly to the locker room, where a cart followed him into the tunnel, according to one report. Before exiting, Dart had completed 3 of 5 passes for 20 yards. Veteran backup Jameis Winston took over the Giants' offense on the ensuing possession after a Rams three-and-out.
