Rams WR Puka Nacua Inactive for Week 2 Game Against Giants

Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Puka Nacua was ruled inactive for Monday night's Week 2 game against the New York Giants due to a hip and groin injury, depriving quarterback Matthew Stafford of his top target. The team also listed wide receiver Jordan Whittington as inactive because of a quadriceps injury, further thinning the receiving corps. Head coach Sean McVay stated that Nacua's current injury is not connected to the core muscle issue he dealt with during training camp. McVay explained that Nacua practiced well on Thursday but developed soreness afterward and could not reach full speed, leading the team to exercise caution. Nacua was a key offensive contributor in the Rams' season-opening loss to the San Francisco 49ers, catching five passes for 74 yards. His absence places a greater burden on wide receiver Davante Adams, who will now draw primary coverage attention. The Rams will also rely on reserves Tutu Atwell and Xavier Smith in expanded roles. On the defensive side, the Rams received a significant boost with the activation of legendary defensive tackle Aaron Donald.
