Fury Joshua Fight Remains Scheduled Amid Promotion Dispute

The December 11 Tyson Fury-Anthony Joshua fight remains advertised for Cardiff, but the role of Dana White in promoting it is disputed, and White says he does not know whether the bout will proceed. The disagreement has centered on whether White and his boxing venture can take part under Joshua’s contract, which has not been made public. Netflix’s announcement said White and Turki Alalshikh’s The Ring would collaborate to promote the fight. Joshua’s promoter, Eddie Hearn, says Joshua’s contract bars White, Zuffa and TKO from involvement. White says he is already promoting the event on Alalshikh’s side, rather than for either fighter. Tyson Fury has also said a restriction on White in his own contract was removed, but that does not settle what Joshua’s agreement allows. At a Zuffa Boxing press conference in London on Saturday, White said he did not know whether the December 11 fight would happen and expected greater clarity in three or four days. The contractual terms remain unresolved in public, leaving the extent of White’s role uncertain.
