Freddie Mercury costumes to be displayed at V&A in 2026
An exhibition celebrating the life and style of Freddie Mercury will open at London's Victoria and Albert Museum this autumn, featuring eight iconic costumes worn by the legendary Queen frontman. Titled "Freddie Mercury Splendid Things," the free display is scheduled to run from October 24, 2026, to January 17, 2027, at the V&A South Kensington. The trail is timed to mark what would have been Mercury's 80th birthday, as he was born on September 5, 1946. The exhibition was developed in collaboration with Mary Austin, Mercury's former fiancée and close friend, who has loaned seven of the eight looks on display.
