Published 28 October 2026

Katherine Dale Kelly is accused of shooting Angel Adenau in the shoulder after travelling by Uber to a parked vehicle in Port St. John, Florida, according to an arrest affidavit and law-enforcement accounts. Kelly faces attempted first-degree murder and other firearm-related charges. The shooting occurred near Bamboo Avenue during the early hours of October 24, according to the affidavit-based account. Adenau was sitting in the passenger seat of a Volkswagen with Kelly’s boyfriend, Elijah Baker, when Kelly allegedly approached the car and fired through the passenger-side window. The bullet struck Adenau in the shoulder. Baker drove Adenau to her home, where emergency crews were called. She was taken to Holmes Regional Medical Center for treatment. The reports do not provide a further update on her condition. Investigators say Kelly suspected Baker of being unfaithful and used location information to find him. The affidavit says she ordered an Uber to the scene after Baker had parked the vehicle. Text messages on Baker’s phone reportedly included accusations of infidelity and a prior threat by Kelly to shoot someone. The messages and investigators’ account have not been tested...
