Dale Smith Jr. Charged in Michelle Parker Disappearance

Published 15 October 2026

Orlando police arrested Dale Smith Jr. on Wednesday, October 14, and charged him with second-degree murder in connection with the 2011 disappearance of Michelle Parker, his former fiancée. Parker has not been found, and police have not publicly detailed the evidence supporting the charge. An arrest and charge do not establish guilt. Parker, 33 and a mother of three, disappeared on November 17, 2011. Police said she had dropped off her twin children at Smith’s home that day and that he was the last known person to see or hear from her. A previously recorded episode of The People’s Court featuring Parker and Smith aired that day; it showed the former couple disputing an engagement ring. Parker’s black Hummer was found abandoned the next day. Her phone was later recovered near a lake, but investigators have not located her. The circumstances of her disappearance and her whereabouts remain unknown. Police Chief Eric Smith said investigators expanded the team assigned to the case over the past year and took another look at evidence and statements.
