Florida beats No. 4 Ole Miss 52-28 behind Baugh

Florida defeated No. 4 Ole Miss 52-28 in Gainesville on Saturday, improving to 4-0 and handing the Rebels their first loss of the season. The No. 21 Gators built their advantage with a powerful rushing attack, led by Jadan Baugh’s 142 yards and three touchdowns. Baugh scored Florida’s first two touchdowns, both on short runs, as the Gators took a 17-3 lead. Ole Miss cut the margin to 17-14 early in the third quarter, but Duke Clark answered with a 45-yard touchdown run. Clark finished with 126 rushing yards and a score. Florida extended its lead after a 74-yard kickoff return by London Montgomery set up a touchdown by quarterback Aaron Philo. The Gators scored touchdowns on five consecutive second-half drives, according to one game account, and added scores from Dallas Wilson, Philo and Baugh to complete the 52-28 win. Philo completed 16 of 23 passes for 196 yards and a touchdown, and also ran for a score. Trinidad Chambliss led Ole Miss with 298 passing yards and a touchdown, while running for 44 yards and two scores. Deuce Alexander caught seven passes for 134 yards and a touchdown.
