Fede Álvarez Says Don’t Breathe 3 Is in Development

Fede Álvarez said a third Don’t Breathe film is in development, with a screenplay written and Jane Levy and Stephen Lang expected to return. The director made the announcement during a question-and-answer session after a 10th-anniversary screening of the original film at Beyond Fest in Santa Monica, California. The remarks establish that a script exists, but the reports do not include formal confirmation from Sony Pictures or the actors themselves. “There’s a screenplay for Don’t Breathe 3. Jane will be back and Stephen Lang will be back,” Álvarez told attendees, according to video of the exchange. Levy and Lang were among the cast members present at the event, alongside Dylan Minnette. Álvarez did not say whether Minnette would return. No release date or plot details were announced. Levy played Rocky in the 2016 original, while Lang portrayed the Blind Man, also known as Norman Nordstrom. Lang returned for Don’t Breathe 2, released in 2021, while Levy was absent from the sequel.
