Fans report transport delays after Bahrain GP practice

Published 3 October 2026

Spectators at Sepang reported long shuttle queues, traffic congestion and lengthy journeys after Friday practice at the Bahrain Grand Prix, which is being held in Malaysia. The accounts, shared on social media, described fans waiting for buses and some making long trips away from the circuit, but the available reports do not establish how many people were affected or whether organisers changed transport arrangements. One attendee said it took him six hours to get home after Friday’s session and that he would not return to the circuit on Saturday. Other posts described crowds waiting for shuttle buses and spectators walking along roads in the dark. These are individual accounts; no independent count of affected spectators or overall waiting and journey times was provided. The race weekend runs from October 2 to 4 at Sepang International Circuit, near Kuala Lumpur. The event retains the Bahrain Grand Prix name, despite being staged in Malaysia. It is Sepang’s first Formula One championship event since the Malaysian Grand Prix was last held there in 2017.
