Entourage Creator Slams Piven Grenier Betr Ad

Published 9 September 2026

Actors Jeremy Piven and Adrian Grenier reunited in a new advertisement for Betr, a gambling and gaming app, sparking sharp criticism from Entourage creator Doug Ellin. The ad, which dropped on September 7, features Piven and Grenier in a dynamic reminiscent of their roles as agent Ari Gold and actor Vincent Chase, though Betr stated the actors appeared as themselves. Ellin publicly denounced the advertisement, calling it a "cheap, shitty imitation" and "trash and theft." He expressed frustration on social media, stating he was not involved in the ad's creation and that it made him "puke" to see years of hard work by the show's writers distilled into what he described as an "embarrassing emulation." Ellin also noted that Piven had previously distanced himself from the show after its finale. Betr defended the campaign, with a spokesperson stating the company was "excited to bring Jeremy and Adrian back together, appearing as themselves." The company characterized the reunion as an "unexpected cultural moment" for its Betr 2.0 relaunch and claimed the advertisement generated nearly 10 million organic social views within 24 hours.
