Ed Sheeran’s Gillette Stadium concerts canceled over weather

Messina Touring announced Friday that Ed Sheeran’s concerts scheduled for September 25 and 26 at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts, were canceled because of severe weather warnings. The promoter said the decision followed consultation with local officials and was made with the safety of fans, staff and others involved as the priority. Ticket holders who bought through Ticketmaster will be refunded automatically, Messina Touring said. Other customers can seek refunds at their point of purchase. The announcement did not say whether the shows would be rescheduled. The cancellation came as a nor’easter was forecast to bring heavy rain and strong winds to New England over the weekend. The concerts were scheduled for Friday and Saturday at the open-air stadium.
