easyJet launches recruitment drive for over-50s cabin crew
Budget airline easyJet has launched a major recruitment drive aimed at hiring more workers over the age of 50 as cabin crew, a move that has been praised by the UK government. The initiative, which opens for applications in September 2026, builds on a successful program started in 2022 that has already seen the number of cabin crew over 50 more than double. The airline is actively encouraging older workers to apply for roles as air hosts and hostesses, seeking to tap into a demographic it says brings valuable life experience and skills. According to easyJet, the number of cabin crew over 50 has more than doubled since 2022, while the number of crew over 60 has almost quadrupled.
