Don McLean announces final UK and Ireland tour for May 2027

Singer-songwriter Don McLean has announced a final UK and Ireland tour, scheduled for May 2027, which he has stated will be his last performances in those regions. The eight-date run, billed as The Farewell Tour, will open at Glasgow's Royal Concert Hall on May 11 and conclude at London's Royal Albert Hall on May 22. The tour will visit eight cities across the UK and Ireland. Following the Glasgow opening, dates are set for Belfast's Waterfront Hall on May 13, Dublin's 3Arena on May 14, Birmingham's Symphony Hall on May 16, Bristol Beacon on May 17, Manchester's Bridgewater Hall on May 19, and Gateshead's Glasshouse on May 20, before the final show in London. Tickets for all dates except London will go on general sale at 10 a.m. on Friday, September 18, 2026. Tickets for the Royal Albert Hall concert will become available at 10 a.m. on October 2, 2026. McLean, who will be 81 when the tour begins, said the concerts will bring his career "full circle." He first performed at the Royal Albert Hall in 1972, shortly after his signature song "American Pie" topped the UK charts. "I love these audiences.
