Disney and Pokémon Company Announce Stop-Motion Series for 2027

Disney and The Pokémon Company International have announced a new global distribution deal that will bring a stop-motion animated series, "Pokémon Tales: The Misadventures of Sirfetch'd & Pichu," to Disney XD and the Disney streaming service in 2027. The series, created by the renowned animation studio Aardman, will follow the titular Pokémon on an epic journey through the Galar region. The announcement was made on August 28, 2026, as part of the new partnership. The deal also includes the immediate streaming of classic episodes from "Pokémon the Series: The Beginning" on Disney, with 22 episodes from the original 1997-1998 series now available.
