Leaked DLSS 5 tested in games by modders

An unfinished version of Nvidia's controversial DLSS 5 neural rendering technology has leaked online, allowing modders to apply its face-altering effects to several popular games months before its official release. The leak originated from an early access build of the basketball game NBA 2K27, which contained a library file identified as an early runtime for DLSS 5. Within hours, members of the RenoDX modding community extracted the file and began testing it in other titles. DLSS 5, announced by Nvidia in March 2026, represents a significant evolution of the company's Deep Learning Super Sampling technology.
